About Steve Zimic
A warm hello to all, and welcome to Fine Art America. My serious interest in photography started back in the 80’s when I was still working as an engineer. I soon joined a local camera club - which I must say - was the best decision I’ve ever made to improve the quality of my work. In the mid 90’s I joined the Nature Photographers website, which is like an online camera club where you share your images and comments with the whole world. Throughout the 90’s my work again took a leap forward as a result of workshops with the late Galen Rowell.
I got started in digital photography in 1996 by having my transparencies scanned and then working them in Photoshop 3.0. In 2002 I started shooting digital with an Olympus C3000. To this day I’m still amazed at the 11 x 14 prints I’ve made from that 3.2 megapixel camera.
Currently I’m shooting with an Olympus E-M1 for my color work, and an infrared converted Olympus E-M5 for my infrared work. Although I still shoot in color, I much prefer the challenges of infrared. I shoot exclusively in RAW and use Photoshop CS6 and Lightroom 5 for both my color and infrared imagery.
I hope you enjoy viewing my images as much as I enjoyed creating them.
